INFORMATION
This free DnD one-shot adventure is intended for a level-3 party, but can be adjusted to fit groups of a higher or lower level. The downloadable PDF includes creature stat blocks for convenience.
As written, this DnD adventure uses the stat block for a Red Dragon Wyrmling. If you wish to play this adventure with a higher average party level, consider using a Young Red Dragon’s stat block in its place.
Also includes links to download two battle maps for Fairward Falls, one with the town ablaze.

ASK RUNE FOUNDRY
What is a one-shot adventure?
A one-shot adventure for a tabletop roleplaying game such as Dungeons & Dragons is content intended to be completed by the group within a single session.
This contrasts with a regular campaign which typically lasts at least several sessions to complete the story.
Multiple one-shots can be linked together to create a campaign.
Can a new Dungeon Master use this content?
All Rune Foundry content is intended to be simple enough for new DMs, yet interesting and useful for experienced DMs as well.

I used this as an introduction to D&D for my 9- and 10-year-old, and it was a rousing success. Challenging enough to be exciting, but simple enough to be doable for young, Level 1 players. They're eager to move on to their next adventure, and I've already bought another one from Rune Foundry.
Came in at 2 hours no problem, fill in for 3, 5th lvl Characters. More than enough back story and detail to make a fun session with little prep time. Downloadable maps were a nice touch.
Fun little one shot, we enjoyed it!
It’s meant to be inspiration for a one shot or side quest so it doesn’t have to be super detailed but I believe it lacks detail even so, the map doesn’t have labels and it’s a bit hard to follow if I where to write this I’d add a longer section to the intro so your players can get to know the npcs as a oppose to randomly meet them when the dragon attacks and so your players will actually care about the town. if your a dm you’ll have to do a bit of work to get this to run smoothly but the Idea is there and it’s a cool location
It is just like 4-5 very basic encounters anyone could have come up with. Cheesy, lame, I hated it. The best part was when it was over I was like thank god I can go run something way more creative.
