The sleepy town of Quarry's Cradle, nestled between enormous pillars of red rock, comes into view as you reach the top of a dusty hill. "Looks like we've arrived," says an anxious voice next to you. "The rumbling usually picks up around sundown - we should hurry." You, followed by a few of the town's bravest, clamber down the steep cliffs with weapons drawn, hoping to find answers.

ASK RUNE FOUNDRY

What is a one-shot adventure?

A one-shot adventure for a tabletop roleplaying game such as Dungeons & Dragons is content intended to be completed by the group within a single session.

This contrasts with a regular campaign which typically lasts at least several sessions to complete the story.

Multiple one-shots can be linked together to create a campaign.

Can a new Dungeon Master use this content?

All Rune Foundry content is intended to be simple enough for new DMs, yet interesting and useful for experienced DMs as well.

4.5 stars!
Really good one-shot to set up players with a base and small town nearby. The open ending and vagueness of the Xorn's cave can lead to more adventures and exploration.

Fun one shot!

I used this sort for a plot hook for my players. They're both new to dnd and they set off on an unexpected side mission and I needed something quick! Rune Foundry to the rescue!!! The story was simple but interesting, the lay out and NPCs were well described and written. The players had fun and were free to explore as much as possible. In the end it was an interesting plot twist that I found easy to integrate into the main ongoing story.
It also allowed me to expand my map into a badlands area.

Highly recommend any of these one shots from Rune Foundry!

Wild West!

Ran this with a party of 4 and it was the perfect one shot adventure. Our group consisted of more advanced players and they loved it!
These one shot adventures are great! They give such a wonderful outline and story that allows (encourages) you to add your own spin/content/ideas/characters/backstory/etc. you name it!
As a DM it helps me to put together a session with such ease. Amazing stuff! Can't wait for future content!
