“The king is dead!” bellows the captain as he charges into town on his mammoth mount. The entire city center stands still in utter shock. Rumors of an uprising have been weaving throughout Goldwell for some time now. Even the king himself must have known his life and kingdom were at stake otherwise he wouldn’t have sent an urgent letter to a group of four adventurers pleading for help. “I fear I can’t even trust my own chancellor,” read a portion of the parchment with shaky handwriting, “that’s why I need you to come immediately to investigate and put an end to this so-called Shinobi Dynasty!”

OBJECTIVE

Carry out the wishes of the late king to sneak into the overrun city, take down the Dynasty's leader, and save the kingdom from unjust servitude. Plus, you're still entitled to a hefty bag of gold promised by the king so hold onto that letter sealed with the royal crest.

    ASK RUNE FOUNDRY

    What is a one-shot adventure?

A one-shot adventure for a tabletop roleplaying game such as Dungeons & Dragons is content intended to be completed by the group within a single session.

This contrasts with a regular campaign which typically lasts at least several sessions to complete the story.

Multiple one-shots can be linked together to create a campaign.

Can a new Dungeon Master use this content?

All Rune Foundry content is intended to be simple enough for new DMs, yet interesting and useful for experienced DMs as well.

    Great Role-playing and Stealth

This module is really great! I ran it for a party with 4 experienced players so I balanced combats to be a little more difficult but the stealth and role play aspects were great fun. I love the reactive and proactive options for play; I'll probably run it again for another group with the level of replayability that adds. I think it is best featured for newer players or players who don't optimize character creation. The map was really helpful for the final fight though I would've like to have a couple extra street maps that could be other potential combats before the boss fight.
